A view from the Silk Road in Kyrgyzstan coming from Kazakhstan and heading to Issyk Koel Lake in Kyrgyzstan, the largest lake in the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan located at an altitude of 1606 metres above sea level.
The route we took was from Bishkek over the Tiensjan Mountains via Lake Issyk Koel located in the oblast of the same name to Kashgar in China. The roads you come across can justifiably be called bad. It is a very desolate landscape with little to no overnight stops. The overnight places you come across are Joerts. The abode of nomadic farmers who graze their cattle in these regions.
