The scruffy mountain massif of Hochkönig towers above the small mountain lake called Untere Paarsee. This is a popular hike of both Großarl (Tal der Almen) and the Gasteinertal. We also see the mountain range called Tennengebirge. Both belong to the Berchtesgadener Alps.
