About ‘Morning by the lake’ by Rita Fuchs

A still body of water, which holds the sky within it like a delicate secret, is always a place where the soul finds peace. At Lake Hopfensee, in the early hours of the morning, when the sun is still rising timidly over the peaks of the Alps, a moment arises that feels like a gentle breath of nature. The golden reeds sway in the gentle breeze; their reflection in the clear water seems like a second, hidden life.
The Alps behind – mighty, snow-capped, ancient – watch over this scene, as if they wished to preserve every moment. A wisp of early morning mist lies over the lake, slowly dissipating to reveal a panorama that sets the heart and mind free.
Here, in the Ostallgäu, in Füssen, nestled between Swabia and Upper Swabia, the world seems to stand still for a moment. Europe seems far away, everyday life even further. Only the colours of the morning, the soft light and the stillness of the water remain – and a sense of romantic connection with nature that stays with you for a long time.
