About ‘Mills with sheep’ by Antwan Janssen

The Zaanse Schans is one of the most famous attractions in the Netherlands. Immediately after the parking lot you will see behind the meadows with sheep a number of windmills and many typical Zaanse wooden houses. The Zaanse Schans is a residential area belonging to Zaandam. The area gives with its many traditional wooden houses, warehouses, museums and windmills a good picture of life in the Zaanstreek in the 17th and 18th century. This picture is also used on the cover of the international brochure of the Zaanse Schans
