A country house sits nestling among cypress trees, looking out over olive groves and down towards a field of sunflowers. In July the countryside of Umbria in Italy has patches of bright yellow which are the beautiful crops of sunflowers. There are always cars parked on the side of the road with tourists taking pictures (like I did for this shot). Of course whilst in full bloom sunflowers are gorgeous, but they are an important crop here in Italy for sunflower seeds and sunflower oil; the blossoms gradually die and wither and the plant goes brown and looks thoroughly neglected before they are ready to be harvested.
