The Mercedes-Benz W 105, better known as Mercedes-Benz 219 was also called "Large Ponton" and had the factory designation W 105. Was equipped with a 6-cylinder engine and was described as a model of the upper middle class. Built it was only 3 years from 1956 to 1959 with engines from 62.5-66 kW.
Whereby the 219 has been a hermaphrodite, the front up to the A-pillar corresponded to the Mercedes-Benz 220 S W 180 and from the from the A-pillar identical to the smaller four-cylinder model 190 (W 121).
According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority there are still about 80 vehicles left in Germany. Status 2022
