About ‘Meerburgermolen Leiderdorp’ by SW Arts

In a nature reserve near Leiderdorp, you will find the Meerburgermolen windmill.
The Meerburgermolen is a polder mill dating from 1684.
There is something unique about this mill because until 2007 it stood at Zoeterwoude Rijndijk, where it was removed to enlarge the industrial estate and raise the level of the A4 motorway.
It was then placed at mill builder Verbij in Hoogmade until 2013, when it could be placed in the Munnikenpolder near Leiderdorp.
From 2014, it was put back into use.
What is also nice is in the passable meadow next to it you will find the Flugwache bunker this was part of the Atlantic Wall.
The Munnikenpolder is a beautiful nature area to clear your head and enjoy.
