About the artwork

Loved and hated: this little beetle is the star of many fairy tales and tales but is nevertheless fiercely fought from time to time.

The mayfly plays an important role in many fairy tales and stories, including 'Petertjes reis naar de maan', 'Thumbelina' and 'De kleine Johannes'.

May beetles are mainly nocturnal animals and spend their days underground, where they feed on roots of plants and trees. In the evening and at night, they emerge to mate and search for food on leaves and flowers. May beetles can live up to five years, most of which they spend underground as larvae.
One of the most striking features of cockchafers is their buzzing sound, produced by the vibrations of their wings while flying. This sound is usually heard during spring and summer, when cockchafers are most active.

Did you know that cockchafers cannot sting or bite? So you can pick them up and put them outside without danger. The cockchafer only flies to look for food or a mate, the animals are too slow to fly away quickly when in danger.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
