About ‘Main tower in Hoorn harbour’ by Gripp_D

The Main Tower, also known as the Hoorn Main Tower, is a historic tower located in the harbour of Hoorn, a city in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. The tower stands on the dike at the end of the harbour and has a striking appearance.

The Main Tower was originally built in the late 16th century as part of Hoorn's fortifications. It served as a defensive tower to protect the harbour and the town from enemy incursions. The tower also had a function as a lighthouse to guide ships safely into the harbour.

With its four floors and characteristic octagonal shape, the Main Tower is a striking landmark in the city of Hoorn. It is a well-preserved example of Dutch fortified towers of the period. The tower has thick walls, narrow windows and a domed roof.

Today, the Hoofdtoren is a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Hoorn's maritime history. Visitors can climb the tower and enjoy stunning views of the harbour and surrounding area. Inside the tower there are also exhibitions and information panels highlighting Hoorn's history and maritime activities.

The Hoorn Main Tower remains an important architectural and historical element of the city, attracting both local residents and tourists interested in the Netherlands' rich maritime heritage.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
