Even without leafs trees can be beautiful. The lonely but beautiful one on the photo is photographed on the Posbank, a wonderful nature reserve in National Park Veluwezoom in the Netherlands. The question remains whether the tree truly is lonely. If you take a close look at the tree you will see there are two kinds of trunks. Each has a slightly different color. You will find these two different colors in the branches as well. But the trunks have grown so closely together that, from a distance, it might as well be one tree.
The photo was taken in March, when the heath wasn't blooming yet. That will happen in August/September. It is a wonderful area to take a hike in though, definitely worth visiting!
