Lines of Security shows the end of the pier in Eastbourne, a seaside resort in Sussex, UK. Closed off to the public, the barriers are blue with a gold fleur de lis type design on the top. A Victorian structure, the pier has a large amount of metalwork that is painted with blue with gold highlights. past the shadows cast on the wooden slats of the pier by the sun, we look through the main barriers and can see further barriers, a handrail for a small flight of steps leading to a lifebelt, along with a seating area. All closed off to the public for safety reasons.
