About ‘Light Painting Rotterdam’ by Lydia Hoogland

Light painting in Rotterdam is like writing poetry with light, against a background that itself already tells a story. The Erasmus Bridge rises like a graceful sentinel over the Maas, while the skyline arranges itself in silent silhouettes along the horizon. In the dark, the city becomes a canvas - open, inviting, alive.

With a lamp, a movement and a little patience, forms emerge that normally remain invisible. Rays bend, lines dance, colours swirl. The light almost seems to play with the wind blowing across the water. While the shutter is open, time is stretched into something gentle, something beautiful. Everything ephemeral is captured - captured in an image that remains.

The reflections on the water mix with the light moving through the sky. The result is an encounter between technique and feeling. The raw elegance of Rotterdam is given a touch of magic, as if the city is momentarily dreaming.

This work on the wall is a reminder that beauty arises where movement and stillness meet. It invites you to look, experience, feel - and maybe even add light to the world yourself.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
