When I still worked near the Amstel station in Amsterdam, I used to take a walk through the area every morning. During these walks, I often came across cats, and not infrequently they would come to meet and give me a head. Of course, there were also those typical scaredy-cats that would run off immediately if you looked at them at all. I started to make a habit of taking a photo of every cat I came across. This is where this work was inspired.
For the colour tone, I deliberately chose soft pastel blue tones. It gives that little bit extra, a bit more tenderness and sweetness. Beautiful light blue with soft bokeh in the background. The choice of these colours is not accidental; the soft blue evokes a sense of calm and serenity, making the cat as a subject stand out even more. The light play in the background, with subtle bokeh effects, enhances this feeling and gives the scene a dreamy atmosphere.
This artwork is a beautiful piece that fits perfectly on the wall, for example in the living room or bedroom. The soothing colours and soft image of the cat bring a sense of security and harmony to the room. It is an invitation to pause and enjoy the little moments of joy that life offers us. A visual reminder of the tenderness and simplicity of everyday life, giving any room a warm and inviting feel.
