Last supper after dark

by GlassArt and Design - Jack

What happens when sacred traditions give way to worldly temptations? *Last Supper After Dark* is a provocative and spectacular work of art in which classical symbolism, glamour and a generous dose of humour come together.

Inspired by the famous Last Supper, Jack Liemburg presents a contemporary interpretation that breaks with all conventions. At the centre sits a man with his hands clasped, surrounded by a group of sensual women in provocative poses. An unexpected penguin in the background adds an absurdist element, whilst the mysterious woman in the foreground lends the scene an extra mischievous dimension.

The industrial setting, the festively laid dinner table and the explosive splashes of red paint create a fascinating contrast between the sacred and the profane. Black, white and fiery shades of red heighten the drama and lend the composition an almost cinematic quality.

This work revolves around freedom, seduction, rebellion and the defiance of established expectations. The daring combination of religious references, modern pop culture and extravagant imagery makes it a work of art that provokes both admiration and debate.

‘Last Supper After Dark’ is not a piece of art to pass by unnoticed. It is a bold statement for lovers of groundbreaking pop art, humour and art with character.
