About ‘Lanzarote - View From the Famara Massif to Playa de Famara’ by Gisela Scheffbuch

The volcanic mountains on the island of Lanzarote often offer marvellous views of the unique landscape.

Here I am standing on a mirador near the Ermita de las Nieves in the Famara massif (Risco de Famara) and looking out over the wide Playa de Famara with its impressive surf. The village of Caleta de Famara and a Norwegian holiday home settlement with semi-circular bungalows are located there. To the left is the sandy desert of El Jable.

Taken in December 2025, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain.
