About ‘Kinderdijk.’ by PEEQ.

Kinderdijk is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland, located in the Alblasserwaard. The village is part of the municipality Molenlanden. Kinderdijk is located where the rivers North and Lek meet. The place is mainly known for the Kinderdijk windmills. The main activity is shipbuilding. Kinderdijk was protected from the water by two administrations, the Overwaard (on the east side of the Middelkade) and the Nederwaard (on the west side of the Middelkade). In 1738, the Nederwaard built eight windmills, stone ground sailors. The second mill is accessible to the public. The Overwaard also built eight mills in 1740, these were octagonal ground-sailers.

Kinderdijk was, in 1886, the first Dutch place with an electricity supply. The electricity was generated in Kinderdijk by the first power station of the Netherlands, designed and built by Willem Benjamin Smit, who was also one of the founders of the Electrisch-Licht-Machinen Fabriek Willem Smit & Co.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
