One of Iceland's greatest natural wonders is undoubtedly the Jökulsárlón glacial lake in the south-east of the country. Jökulsárlón glacial lake, which is also known as the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, is located on the Vatnajökull glacier and right on the black sand beach of Diamond Beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The huge lake is Iceland's largest glacial lake and is dotted with brilliant photogenic radiant light blue ice floes all year round. Known as the most beautiful glacial lake in the world, the lake is perhaps one of the most photogenic spots in all of Iceland. This is thanks to the many floating ice floes and icebergs combined with the glacier in the background and the unique blue water. Some shiny icebergs are bright blue, while others are white, green or grey and black due to volcanic grit. Nowhere else in Iceland can you admire huge ice floes up close as you can here, giving this place an almost magical feel.
