Photo art showing Isola Maggiore, which is one of three islands on Lago Trasimeno (Lake Trasimeno) in Umbria, Italy. It is the only inhabited island with a small town of less than 20 inhabitants. The island is reached by ferry. There is a chapel commemorating the landing of St Francis of Assisi on the island. There is also a lace museum and the local women sit making lace outside their front doors. It also has a castle-like structure that is called Giuglielmi Castle (also known as the Isabella Castle) which was built on top of an existing Franciscan convent.
