About "Inverness Castle in Scotland"

About the artwork

Inverness Castle is a Victorian castle in the center of the city of Inverness in Scotland. Built in the 1930s, it stands on Castle Hill, which overlooks the River Ness. On this site several castles have stood since 1057, including a medieval fortress. The current building was designed by no fewer than three architects, each of whom has worked on its own part of the castle. They have preserved the features of a fortress, with towers of all shapes (rectangular, square, round, octagonal).

Until 2020, the castle served as a court building, which unfortunately made it largely inaccessible to the public. The only part that you can visit at the moment (2021) is the north tower (the large octagonal tower on the left in the photo). It has been set up as a museum, with every floor telling about a different local story. One story is about St Columba, who had banished a monster from the River Ness. The beginning of the famous legend. Once on top of the tower, you will have a nice view of the river and the surrounding area.

In the future you will be able to visit much more than just the tower of the castle. Plans are underway to transform the castle into a major new cultural center and museum that will host national and international exhibitions and showcase the culture and heritage of the Scottish Highlands.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
