The title "Becher im Schwartzwald" refers to one of my photographic sources of inspiration; Mr. and Mrs. Becher.
In the 50's they photographed in a uniform way engineering buildings like water towers and mine shafts which they presented in a grid. This made such an impression that they even made school of it. Nowadays we know this as the Düsseldorfer Schule, named after the academy where they taught.
In contrast to the rigid engineering construction I have applied myself to the craftsmanship of hunting huts in the Black Forest.
