Michael Ladenthin is a German artist born in 1963 who grew up and lives and works in the Ruhr area. You can find more information about him and his works at www.michael-ladenthin.de.
Ladenthin's works are characterised by a unique style that combines expressionist and partly realistic elements on the basis of abstract processes. By experimenting with the primary colours yellow, cyan and magenta in combination with white and black, he creates random structures that can depict stories, scenes, dreams or psychotic states. It is particularly striking that parts of his pictures remain unprocessed, leaving the viewer room for their own discoveries and interpretations.
A particularly moving work by Michael Ladenthin is the painting "Hoffnung-2024". The original measures 60 x 60 cm and is made in mixed media (oil on acrylic). It shows a rose in a powerful, expressive style of painting. This rose, surrounded by generous areas of colour, symbolises the delicacy and fragility of hope. The open areas of the painting leave plenty of room for personal interpretation and invite the viewer to reflect on their own feelings and thoughts.
The dynamic colour composition and the intense contrasts in the painting "Hope-2024" encourage the viewer to explore the deeper meaning of hope in various life situations. Ladenthin's artworks are more than just visual experiences; they are emotional journeys that take the viewer into a world of their own imagination and reflection.
