I was interested in how the repetition of a simple form - in this case goldenrod leaves - could be used to create a calm yet detailed image. The goldenrod is not only a native wild plant, but also a symbol of late summer and transition.
The atmosphere is calm, organised and close to nature. The picture invites the viewer to engage with the subtle differences in the uniform. The message is subtle: structure is created through diversity - a principle that can be found again and again in nature.
