About ‘Gold Hill’ by Nop Briex

Gold Hill or Gold Hill is a famous steep cobblestone paved street in the town of Shaftesbury in the English county of Dorset. The view in this alley is among England's most romantic spots.

Above the top is the 14th century St Peter's Church, one of the few pre-18th century buildings in Shaftesbury. Adjacent to the church is the former rectory (Sun and Moon Cottage), which is still part of the Gold Hill Museum. It now houses stores.

The cobblestone paved road is flanked on one side by a fortified city wall of ancient Shaftesbury built by King Alfred the Great. It is believed that the walls were built around 1360, when the Mother Superior or other authority with royal permission had ordered the defensive walls to be built.

Every year, the town raises money for local charities during the Gold Hill event.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
