Frozen Dreams – a modern winter painting

by Bianca ter Riet

Frozen Dreams is an atmospheric artwork depicting a figure skater on the ice, bathed in soft pink and ice-blue reflections of light. Hanging above the skater is a glittering disco ball, lending the scene a magical, almost dreamlike quality. The combination of movement, light and colour brings the energy of a winter ice rink to life in a unique way.

The silhouette-like figure skater glides across the smooth ice, whilst the blurred contours evoke a sense of speed and elegance. The soft pastel colours, turquoise accents and pink glow create a modern, artistic atmosphere. The light seems to dance across the ice, reflecting the enchanting ambience of a festive ice rink.

This modern winter sports artwork combines the elegance of figure skating with the glamour of a disco ball. The result is a contemporary wall decoration for lovers of skating, winter scenes, dance, movement and modern art.

Thanks to its fresh colour palette, this painting fits beautifully into a modern interior, a bedroom, living room or creative space. It brings light, dynamism and a touch of magic to the wall.

In my work, I enjoy seeking harmony between colour, atmosphere and movement. I am inspired by the way light and colour can evoke emotions. With this artwork, I wanted to capture the freedom and elegance of skating, using soft pastel colours and a sparkling disco ball that lend the ice a magical aura. For me, it is a play of movement, light and colour in which everything comes together for a moment.

A work of art in which ice, movement and light come together in an enchanting winter dreamscape.
