About ‘Franse Pas by Night’ by Meliza Lopez

From the website of Visit Aruba they explain about Franse Pas. Legend has it that French pirates tried to invade Aruba in the early 17th century round harvesting time and were confronted by Indians in this narrow passage above Spanish Lagoon. The Frenchmen were winning the battle and the Indians had to flee and hid in a cave nearby where the Frenchmen could not get to them. The Frenchmen thought it was good to smoke the Indians out of the cave, but instead the Indians got killed by inhaling the smoke. After this encounter, the passage became known as ?Franse Pas? or ?Rooi Frances? in Papiamento, which translates to ?Frenchmen?s Pass? in English. Today inhabitants near "Frenchmen?s pass" claim they hear crying noises from the Indians during the evening. Some say the Indian ghosts are awake and haunting the area known as Spanish Lagoon.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
