About ‘Fragments of Identity’ by Vineet Suresh

I wanted to combine one of the most recognisable faces in art history with an anonymous contemporary figure, allowing the two identities to merge into something entirely new.

The fragmented portrait of the Mona Lisa replaces the subject's face, while the rest of the figure dissolves into soft brushstrokes and subtle digital distortion. The contrast between the crisp geometric fragments and the blurred body represents the tension between permanence and change. We often remember faces, moments and emotions as fragments rather than complete stories, and I wanted the composition to reflect that imperfect way we experience memory.

Colour also plays an important role in the atmosphere. The deep blue background creates a sense of calm and openness, while the warm skin tones draw the eye toward the centre of the piece. I wanted the artwork to feel quiet and contemplative rather than dramatic, inviting the viewer to slow down and interpret the symbolism in their own way.

This piece was created by blending digital collage with painterly textures and layered effects. I enjoy combining classical imagery with modern techniques because it allows familiar subjects to be viewed from a different perspective.

I imagine this work living in spaces that encourage reflection: a minimalist living room, creative studio or reading corner. My hope is that it doesn't provide answers, but instead encourages each viewer to ask their own questions about memory, identity and the stories we carry with us.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
