This early morning fog in the dunes of North Holland meant that all colour disappeared from the landscape and every sound was muffled. Mystically, the contours of some trees are still visible in the otherwise grey and almost monochrome landscape. The sun would only be able to penetrate the blanket of mist a few hours later. Until then, all the trees form just a vague blotch and it is a small world.
