High up on the Koblat high trail, where the sky above the Nebelhorn seems close enough to touch, sits a simple cairn - quiet, motionless, yet full of meaning. It is not only a signpost for hikers, but also a silent witness to countless stories carried by the wind over the ridges of the Allgäu Alps. The chalk-white stones, bleached by the sun, rest on top of each other like thoughts, carefully layered - a small building of human hope and orientation in the middle of the wild, open expanse.
The Hochvogel rises proudly in the background, 2592 metres high, striking and majestic. Its dark massif cuts through the lush green of the surrounding heights - an eternal sentinel over the Allgäu. The soft lines of the grassy slopes stand in stark contrast to the rugged rocky landscape in the foreground, a play of light, shadow and shapes that touches the soul.
Here, where the view becomes expansive and time seems to stand still, you feel small and secure at the same time. Europe lies at your feet, Bavaria embraces you with silent strength - and the cairn whispers: "You are on the right path."
