This work is a poetic, cinematic landscape image that evokes a nostalgic feeling. Although the composition, with the path snaking into the depths and the barbed wire in the foreground, maintains the boundary between freedom and limitation, the atmosphere is dominated by a warm, golden yellow glow. This vintage colour palette transforms the image into a soft, dreamy memory.
My inspiration lay in the aesthetics of old polaroids and the sentimental value of landscapes from the past. I wanted to take the viewer into a warm, familiar memory. The blur in the distance and the slight flare add an element of romance and mystery, as if this path came from a dream or an old film.
The atmosphere is one of nostalgia, warmth and romantic tranquillity. The barbed wire, though still present, is softened by the golden light, emphasising the lingering beauty of the polder landscape.
This work is special in interiors seeking a soft, warm atmosphere. It fits perfectly with bohemian, country or vintage décor and acts as a soothing window to a nostalgic, open landscape.
"A golden memory; the path of the past captured in a warm, cinematic dream of tranquillity."
