About ‘Falkland Caracara’ by Antwan Janssen
The Striated Caracara, also called the Johnny Rook Caracara by the residents of the Falkland Islands is a rare bird of prey that is found almost nowhere outside the Falkland Islands. This photo was taken on Carcass island, one of the islands in the Falkland where it can still be seen.

I am Antwan Janssen, travel and nature photographer from Uden. During my many travels on this globe I try to capture all the beauty on photo. As you can see on this site my preference goes to landscapes, wildlife but also to the local population, mostly abroad but certainly also in our beautiful Netherlands. In recent years, several of my photos have won awards in both national and international photo competitions.
