The low sun conjures up a soft golden colour on the blanket of snow, while the warm light makes the tops of the trees and the red Swedish house look as if they have been painted.

The picture evokes a longing for the simple life, for pure snow and the magic of the Scandinavian winter. It reminds us that silence sometimes carries the greatest power - and that light in the north speaks its own language.
