About "Ellor the human elephant"

by Preet Lambon

About the artwork

In a world that seems forgotten by time, Ellor - a creature with the head of an elephant and the heart of a human - wanders through desolate landscapes. His coat is heavy with memories, his shoes worn by endless wanderings. In his hand he carries an old bucket, filled with the dreams of others, picked up in the silence of deserted villages. No one knows where he comes from, or where he is going. But those who meet him feel something gentle awakening: a lost memory, a childlike wonder, or just the quiet comfort that even the strangest creature seeks a place where it may be at home.

- This artwork shows a fascinating, surreal scene depicting a figure with the body of a human and the head of an elephant. The figure wears a classic, dark grey cloak with coarse ropes as fastenings, and sturdy, old-fashioned shoes. In his hands, he holds a bent stick and a weathered, metal bucket with a lid, evoking an almost fairy-tale, melancholic feeling.

The style is a dreamy, nostalgic mood with an eye for texture and detail. The earthy colours and soft lighting enhance the timeless, almost Victorian look of the scene. It raises questions about identity, fantasy and the thin dividing line between humans and animals. -
