Dahlias are back again. They are strong, rich and long flowering plants that are a colourful addition to the late summer border. The flowering period of dahlias and other tuberous plants is determined to a large extent by the time of planting. If you plant the tubers in the full ground at the end of May, the flowers will only appear in late summer and autumn.
