The Damiate Bridge is an interesting example of a double iron drawbridge. The bridge sections are fitted with inclined halyards and balances with double trusses, and span a clearance of 14.50 metres. The bridge was built by the Hague ironworks and foundry L.J. Enthoven & Co. The bridge was opened to traffic in April 1855.
