In Dining Alone Together, I show a hushed, almost cinematic scene of a woman dining in the company of a cat. The image raises questions: is she really alone? Or just in good company? This new version is based on my earlier work Table for Two, which was sold several times in cartoon style (work code: 797642). This time, I chose a more realistic and intimate image.
The whole composition - from characters to furniture and lighting - was built in 3D. Then, using AI, I brought daylight into the scene and subtly adjusted the clothes, without losing the human handwriting. This creates a new balance between technique and feeling.
The work is part of my Olafique series, in which I draw inspiration from the tranquil portraits of Erwin Olaf. His Grief series in particular was an important inspiration for the mood and subtlety of this image.
