In the Slovenian countryside, in the middle of the nondescript village of Hrastovlje, lies the most famous Christian building in Slovenia, the Holy Trinity Church. When we arrive at the church after some searching it appears to be closed. But that's no problem because we can get the key at number 50 on a bill stuck to the solid wooden door that the sun has almost made illegible. That turns out to be a problem since we cannot find number 50 in the maze of houses. So we ask one of the residents. Cottage 50 appears to be on the other side of the village but no problem because we call the lady to come to the church and open the door. Now that you are here anyway, would you like a glass of homemade wine? Of course, we do not turn down such hospitality. After a nice glass of wine and some chatting about life in the Slovenian countryside, we drive back to the church where the door has been prepared by a nice woman. She apologized that she had already gone home but today, it is now 4 o'clock, nobody has been there yet. From the outside the church is very simple but inside the whole interior is covered with beautiful frescoes from the end of the 15th century. The woman asks in poor English where we come from and then takes out a cassette tape. This she puts in the cassette recorder and in Dutch a voice begins to tell about the history of the church.
