These trees have seen me pass by them probably all my life, but never did they look more enchanting than on this winter morning when there was not snow anywhere I the country except in this place. Thaw was already on its way, which caused a dense fog. The snow was turning into ice and a woman passing by me with her dog said : don't you just hate this? I laughed and replied that to me this was utter bliss. These beech trees looked animated in their white cold environment, as if they were communicating with each other. The fog added a much needed sense of depth to the scene with other trees disappearing into nothingness
