We prefer not to see them in our own lawn, but the dandelion is a very important flower in the Netherlands for butterflies and insects. The bright yellow flowers are actually beautiful to see and when it has finished flowering after a few days, a true work of art emerges. This is because the seeds hang from little fluffy parachutes. When the wind blows past the seed balls, the seeds fly gracefully into the air, beautiful to see. Here, the seed bulb was photographed using flash light and against a deep black background. The fluffy white stands out beautifully against the background.
We don't want to have them in our green grass, but the yellow flowers of the dandelion are really beautiful. The flowers you can only see in sprintime. And when te flower exposes their seeds it is a true piece of art. The seeds are hanging underneath a fluffy white paracute. When the wind blows, the seeds fly away in the sky.
