Conrad’s Inca (Bourcieria Conradi), John Gould It is after the son of the late George Loddiges that this splendid and very rare species has been named,—a just and graceful tribute to the descendant of one, who it may be truly said loved this group of birds; and I am sure that Mr. Conrad Loddiges duly estimates the compliment paid him by M. Bourcier in giving his name to so charming a bird. This illustration has been restored to its original vibrancy by enhancing colors and removing unwanted marks. A monograph of the Trochilidæ, or family of humming-birds was published between 1849 and 1887 by English ornithologist John Gould. This monumental work depicts and describes all the known species of hummingbirds at the time - comprising 418 lithographic plates and information on 537 species."
