About ‘Colmar’ by Antwan Janssen

Colmar is an authentic French town where almost all the buildings still date from the 15th or 16th century. It catapults you back to the Middle Ages. Colmar is also close to the German border, which is reflected in its streets. Stroll through its narrow alleys and taste the delicious wines of the region. This fairytale village was also the main inspiration for Belle and the Beast's village.
The town of Colmar looks like it is the inspiration for many fairy-tale worlds. The half-timbered houses with brightly coloured tiled roofs and brilliant colours make the town a sight in itself. Feast your eyes as you stroll through its streets and get carried away by its quirky culture, consisting of both French and German influences. Did you know that Colmar has fallen into both German and French hands over the centuries? This has created a unique culture; you can discover it for yourself!
