Citrus & Sea on a Pink Table

by BS

This vibrant composition is a colourful tribute to summer elegance, where oysters, lemons and red wine come together on a table bathed in Mediterranean charm. The artist uses a bold, pasty painting technique with thick, visible brushstrokes that add texture and energy to the image.

Central to the work is a playfully arranged table scene: six shiny oysters spread open on a soft pink cloth, flanked by half lemons that seem ready to be squeezed. A glass of red wine, an ornately labelled bottle and a handful of matches add subtle, narrative tension. To the right, a large vase with fresh green leaves and yellow citrus fruit dominates - as if the sun itself has been caught in the pot.

The fresh colours - lemon yellow, leafy green, salmon pink and wine red - create a warm, inviting palette that perfectly fits the theme of sensual pleasure and summer luxury. The whole exudes a lighthearted festivity, as if this scene were set on a terrace on the Italian coast.
