Chinatown in New York is a neighbourhood on the island of Manhattan in New York. It is an ethnic enclave with 300,000 residents, most of whom are of Chinese descent. At the end of the 19th century, the neighbourhood consisted of only a few hundred Chinese, then that number grew rapidly. In the 1980s, its population surpassed that of San Francisco's famous Chinese Quarter and it became the largest Chinatown in the Western Hemisphere. Today, it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in New York.
In mijn foto's zoek ik vaak naar balans en verstilling. Daarnaast heb ik 'less is more' hoog in het vaandel staan: doordringen tot de absolute kern van wat ik wil 'vertellen'. Ik fotografeer als freelancer voor verschillende opdrachtgevers. Vrijwel altijd op locatie en met gegeven omstandigheden.
