This photo was shot after the feeding of cheetahs at farm Kanaan. These Cheetahs are not free but still wild. They were raised the first couple of month of their life among humans before they came under the guardianship of farm Kanaan.
These Cheetahs cannot be returned to wilderness as they will always be attracted to humans and most Namibian farmers will simply shot them if they hunt there animals.
For that reason these four Cheetahs life in a huge fenced area with their own red sanded dune. I had the opportunity to be a part of a feeding and joined happily the gamekeeper and the two volunteers.
It was a marvellous experience to come this close to four of the beautiful creatures, who are very intelligent and very curious.
Farm Kanaan is a lovely place to be, not only because they are protecting the area and the animals as part of the amazing Namib Naukluft Park area.
