If you drive south from Epen and Terziet in southern Limburg you will find this beautiful private castle Beusdael just across the border in the Walloon town of Sippenaeken.
Beusdael Castle is a castle in the hamlet of Beusdael in the borough of Sippenaeken in the municipality of Blieberg in the Belgian province of Liège near the border with the Netherlands. The castle is located on Rue de Beusdael and is surrounded by a moat filled with water. The structure is by the Berlegian architect Charles-Émile Janlet.
The castle is beautifully situated in the rolling Heuvelland, on the edge of the Geul Valley.
I come there regularly to paint and dream away. This is where the Netherlands begins, one of the highest points where the water from the Eifel and the Ardennes is drained into the Dutch delta.
