Jasmund National Park is located on the Jasmund Peninsula in the northeast of the island of Rügen (state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) . It is Germany's smallest national park.
The most famous feature are the chalk cliffs on the steep coast to the Baltic Sea.
The famous chalk cliffs of the island of Rügen are subject to constant erosion. With every storm, large pieces break from the rocks, and also tear trees and shrubs into the sea.
