A mysterious moonscape is created because the photo was taken after sunset on a tripod with a long shutter speed. The surf hitting between the rocks of solidified lava creates a mysterious haze due to the long shutter speed. The Capelinhos volcano in the background erupted in 1957 and, in addition to new land, caused a lot of damage…
