The ocean rests in a gentle haze, as if time had stopped it for a moment. A fine layer of mist lies over the water - the work of long exposure, which transforms every wave into a soft, dreamy nothingness. The sky is pastel-coloured, as if the night were tentatively dissolving into day, without haste, without hurry.
There are deckchairs on the beach, neatly arranged in rows, already reserved for people who are still fast asleep. But now, in this fleeting moment before sunrise, they belong to no one. They wait quietly, like silent witnesses to a new day that will soon awaken.
A single palm tree leans over the sand, its shadow still barely recognisable in the soft light. It seems to be awake, as if it knows about the transience of this moment. Melancholy is in the air - a feeling that comes with silence, when the world is not quite there yet.
Here, on the Andaman Sea, on Koh Chang, where the horizon slowly changes colour, eternity lingers for a brief moment.
