About ‘Beelitz-Heilstätten’ by Nick Raijmakers

Beelitz-Heilstätten is a huge hospital complex from the late 19th century. Originally built as a sanatorium for Berlin workers in particular, the complex was soon turned into a military hospital after the outbreak of World War 1. In October and November 1916, Adolf Hitler still stayed at the hospital after being wounded in the leg during the Battle of the Somme. After the surrender of the German empire in 1945, the complex came into the hands of the Soviets. Where Thus it remained a military hospital until 1995, long after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Until 2000, frantic attempts were made to privatise the complex. To a small extent, they succeeded, but the rest of the complex looks very bleak.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
