The Barbara Chapel in the Dippoldiswalder Heide is a chapel built around 1500 and named after the patron saint of miners. In 1539, shortly before the Reformation, Bishop Johann VIII of Maltitz had the chapel destroyed. The Maltitzers are said to have taken the altarpiece with them to Bohemia. Parts of the outer walls have been preserved as ruins.
