About ‘Autumn strokes’ by Whale & Sons

This work shows horizontal paint strokes overlapping each other in layers. Red, rust, orange and amber alternate with dark greys and an occasional white strip. The rough texture of the brushstrokes remains visible - some are full and saturated, others almost seem to smudge out into the background.

The inspiration comes from nature itself: the way leaves lie in strips across the ground, the layering of bark and moss, and the sense that autumn is always built up of layers of colour and time. The loose, open brush strokes give the work a relaxed feel, as if painted in one breath.

The work brings warmth and subtlety to an interior. The stripes form a calm vertical composition, making it fit well in modern or minimalist spaces. It is abstract enough to remain open to interpretation, but the autumnal colours immediately give it a sense of familiarity and season.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
